Open house Dec. 6 at Rice Campus Observatory
FROM RICE NEWS AND STAFF REPORTS
The Rice University Campus Observatory will hold a free open house Dec. 6, giving everyone a chance to view the moon, Venus, star clusters, nebulae, galaxies and more.
The observatories on Halloween and Homecoming weekends were each well-attended, with dozens of visitors viewing Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, the moon, several star clusters and other astronomical sights.
All open houses are hosted by a faculty member in the Physics and Astronomy Department. Weather permitting, viewings begin about one hour after sunset and last for two to three hours.
For directions, parking information and other details, visit the observatory home page at http://www.ruf.rice.edu/~ruco/observatory.html.
