Applications to Rice exceed 11,000
Undergraduate applications to Rice University for 2009 have officially topped 11,000, creating another milestone after applications already passed the 10,000 mark earlier this month for the first time in the school's history.
The number of applicants for fall's freshman class, which will be the largest in the university's history, stood at 11,003 early this week.
In last week's Rice News, Vice President for Enrollment Chris Muņoz said the university's reputation as one of the best values in higher education, substantiated by recent articles in Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine and USA Today, has helped attract potential students to Rice.
He also noted the university's ability to cultivate students "who would be very receptive" to Rice has increased greatly in recent years.
