'Visitor' wireless network security changed
Rice employees and students who access the Internet through Rice's wireless network should use the secure "Rice Owls" network for official university business rather than the "Visitor" network.
This week, Information Technology made a change in the security configuration for Rice's "Visitor" wireless network that blocks anonymous access to internal Rice resources. Only the "Rice Owls" network is secure for sensitive data, files and content and allows access to internal Rice resources, including campus printers.
Details about this change are available on the IT Web site,
http://www.rice.edu/it/Announcement1.html.
For assistance setting up the "Rice Owls" connection on a laptop or other portable device, contact the Help Desk at 713-348-HELP (4357) or
