Cyber expert to discuss cyberspace in US at Baker Institute

Dale Meyerrose, vice president and general manager of cyber and information assurance at Harris Corporation, will speak on "Cyberspace in America: A Status Report" Nov. 3 at the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy.

Meyerrose, a retired Air Force major general and former Senate-confirmed chief information officer for the U.S. intelligence community, will broadly address the status of cyberspace in the country. Meyerrose will also detail some of the top cyber issues affecting government, industry and academia and will host a question-and-answer session regarding the specific security concerns facing the energy, health care and financial industries.
The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. in Baker Hall's Kelly International Conference. Breakfast will be offered from 8 to 8:30.
The lecture is organized by the Baker Institute's Technology, Society and Public Policy Program in conjunction with the Greater Houston Partnership, the Ken Kennedy Institute for Information Technology and the Rice University Computer Security Lab.
